Structuring the Design Department in a company undergoing Digital Transformation.

Context and Challenge.

During SESI's digital transformation, the pilot team—composed of developers and a business analyst—faced challenges in aligning business requirements with a clear usability vision to create a quality product. The lack of strategic direction affected their ability to deliver the ideal user experience.

Creating the Design System.

As a starting point, I translated SESI's visual identity into the core components needed to kick off the project. As the work progressed, I mapped and developed new components as demands arose.

In the end, I delivered a robust and comprehensive Design System, ready to be used by other teams, ensuring consistency and efficiency in the development of the ecosystem.

The system is divided into seven main modules.

Each module contains a set of screens organized into a flow, enabling the responsible user to efficiently manage the available materials.

As I joined the project after its initiation, the visual direction had already been defined and could not be changed at this stage. Therefore, we proceeded with the screens in their original format, reserving the planned usability improvements for the project's second release.

A seção de informações sobre o veículo foi reformulada para melhorar a organização e a apresentação do conteúdo. Adotamos o uso de cards como estrutura principal dos componentes, o que trouxe mais modernidade ao layout facilitando a leitura.

Além de trazer uma aparência mais moderna, os cards garantiram responsividade mais eficiente — resolvendo um problema recorrente da versão anterior — e ofereceram flexibilidade para variações de formato e diagramação. Essa modularidade permitiu atender melhor às demandas dos mercados regionais, que buscavam por componentes mais atualizados e versáteis.
