UX/UI

The creation and launching of an inventory system in 6 months.

Context and Challenge.

During SESI's digital transformation, the pilot team—composed of developers and a business analyst—faced challenges in aligning business requirements with a clear usability vision to create a quality product. The lack of strategic direction affected their ability to deliver the ideal user experience.

My mission was to introduce the Design vision to the team, establishing a replicable model within the company.

UX/UI

Designing the system.

As the name suggests, the inventory system is a complex project to understand and design.

For this reason, a deep immersion with the business team was crucial to align client needs and plan the delivery within an extremely tight timeline.

Overview of the Main Screens Delivered After 6 Months of the Project

The system is divided into seven main modules.

Each module contains a set of screens organized into a flow, enabling the responsible user to efficiently manage the available materials.

As I joined the project after its initiation, the visual direction had already been defined and could not be changed at this stage. Therefore, we proceeded with the screens in their original format, reserving the planned usability improvements for the project's second release.

The goal of the project was to rebuild an outdated system filled with process and usability issues, creating a solution that was simple to use and scalable for other areas of the company.

With the usability issues clearly identified through heuristic analyses and mapped during conversations with the client, we proposed new screens and flows.

Heuristic Analysis:

Key Usability Issues in the Interface:

Lack of Clarity and Hierarchy: The initial screen lacked a clear order or defined relevance for actions and components, making it difficult for users to navigate and prioritize tasks.

Limited Scalability of Architecture: The screen structure did not support the seamless and standardized addition of new modules, hindering the system's evolution and expansion.

Proposal:

The main change was to define the relevance of each action and redistribute the components, prioritizing the actions most used by the users. To achieve this, I defined the hero area as the group of shortcuts to the system's main flows, with the first one being the most important.

The material analysis flow occurs in all modules of the system.

In each module, the user answers different questions so that the system can direct the material correctly.
